ASA Signs on to FTC Letter With AAVOR
ASA signed on to a letter from the American Alliance for Vehicle Owners Rights (AAVOR) ahead of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) open meeting Wednesday, July 21. The FTC is meeting this week to discuss a policy statement in response to the 2020 "Nixing the Fix" document released by the agency.
In the letter, members of AAVOR affirm their support for a policy statement that would support the rights of vehicle owners to access and control their vehicle data. Such a policy would encourage competition by preserving the consumer's right to choose where their vehicle is repaired.
Other stakeholders on the letter include the American Car Rental Association, the National Consumers League, and many more.
