House Democrats Advocate for $85 Billion for EVs

U.S. House of Representatives Democrats sent a letter today to Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi urging them to consider more funding for electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure. The letter, which was signed by Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Rep. Yvette Clarke (NY-09), among others, stated that “we must seize this one-in-a-generation opportunity to go big, go bold, and build the infrastructure that will take us into the 21st century.”

The lawmakers are hoping that additional EV infrastructure funding is included in the budget reconciliation infrastructure package, which was released as a framework today. The framework included $67 billion out of a total $3.5 trillion package for the Environment and Public Works Committee to be allocated partially to electric vehicles.
