Bill Requiring AM Radio in Cars Advances
Earlier today, the US Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee voted to advance a bill that would require all new vehicles to be manufactured with AM radio as a standard feature.
The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2023 (S. 1669) passed the committee by a nearly unanimous vote, with only one objection. The bill now awaits a vote on the floor of the entire Senate.
The US House version of the bill currently counts 137 representatives as cosponsors. It has not received a committee vote yet.
