CA Legislature Sends Bill Requiring Humans in Self-Driving Trucks to Governor
Yesterday, the California State Senate passed Assembly Bill 316 by a 36-2 margin. AB 316 would require heavy duty vehicles on California roads to have a licensed human in the vehicle while the vehicle is in operation.
With the bill's passage in the senate and its previous 69-4 passage in the state assembly, the bill now heads to Governor Gavin Newsom. Governor Newsom indicated that he would veto the bill, but the legislature would likely override that veto.
