ASA Signs Autonomous Vehicle Letter to Secretary Buttigieg
The Automotive Service Association signed a letter to Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg along with other industry stakeholders such as the Alliance for Automotive Innovation and the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). The letter is a request to the U.S. Department of Transportation to continue their work on research and development for the safe deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs).
The deployment of autonomous vehicles is a great opportunity for the safety of Americans on the road, and this technology is the future of transportation. However, there is a significant need for a regulatory framework that ensures the safety of this new technology.
