ASA Blog to Address Business Management Topics for Automotive Service and Collision Repair Facilities

Welcome to the Automotive Service Association’s first blog post! If you think that has a familiar ring, you’re right. ASA had a blog in the past, but it’s been a few years. We wanted to resurrect it to start a helpful dialogue on the importance of managing your business and managing it well. For more than 60 years, independent automotive service and collision repair facilities have looked to ASA for many things – from management training to special pricing on parts to legislative representation in Washington, D.C., and so much more. During those 60-plus years, the business climate has changed as vastly as the cars themselves. In fact, an owner of one of our member-shops said recently, “I think I am the only one here who has seen a carburetor, ignition points and mechanical fuel pump!”

The intention of this blog is to be the go-to place where relevant things on how you manage your business are discussed. You’ll be hearing from our members directly on how they have stayed in business year after year, despite the economy, despite the financial struggles and despite the changes. And of course we’d like to hear from you, our readers, with your own comments and opinions in future blog posts.
